Outdoor theatre is returning to the Castle Grounds this June!

Tamworth Borough Council are inviting families to enjoy four outdoor theatre classic show’s taking place in Tamworth’s picturesque Castle Grounds this June and July.
Join Oddsocks Productions for Much Ado About Nothing in June; Heartbreak Productions for Sense and Sensibility in July; plus, Tethered Wits Ltd for Dr Dolittle and The Great Gatsby on the outdoor stage.
Bring your own picnic or grab refreshments from the onsite facilities and be ready to sit back, relax and enjoy the show! Packed with fun, humour and a heart-warming message, these touching tales provides the perfect family entertainment.
Four shows will take place on the lower lawn of the Castle Grounds near the bandstand, with the stunning Tamworth Castle providing a beautiful space to enable families to bring picnic blankets or chairs and settle themselves in their own areas for the performance.
Award winning Oddsocks Productions are bringing Shakespeare’s romantic romp - Much Ado About Nothing, to life in their own hilarious and irreverent style on Sunday 18 June, at 6.30pm.
Drama and deception mix with sun, songs and silliness to create a theatre event you won’t forget as this performance hits the road.
Tickets are priced at £12 for adults, £10 for children, or a family ticket for £37.50.
Heartbreak Productions cordially invites people to their open-air adaption of Jane Austen’s biting social satire - Sense and Sensibility on Sunday 16 July at 7pm.
This Regency romance describes the story of sisters in impoverish circumstances seeking to meet an honourable man of good fortune by whatever means necessary. Pack a picnic, grab your chaise longue (or blanket), and settle in for this literary classic with a Heartbreak twist.
Tickets are priced at £12.50 for adults, £10.50 for children and a family of four ticket at £37.50.
Tethered Wits Ltd are performing two great outdoor productions on Friday 28 July.
The first performance is at 2.30pm with the family favourite - Dr Dolittle, the story of an extraordinary animal doctor that fills his house with every kind of animal and figures out how to speak their language. This tale is brought to life using stunning puppetry, making it a fun show and a paw-fect day out for all the family.
Tickets are priced at £12 for adults and £10 for children.
The second performance is at 7pm with the jazz age classic - The Great Gatsby, set in 1920s New York, a city full of dreamers.
Through the eyes of Nick Carraway, audiences are introduced to the high-fliers of glitzy Manhattan. However, when he meets a certain Jay Gatsby, a self-made millionaire, he realises the parties are not always what they seem.
Featuring the music of Cole Porter and George Gershwin live on stage, get suited and booted in your best Roaring 20s finery for an unforgettable night.
Tickets are priced at £16 and £14 for concessions. Age Guidance is for 12 years and over.
