Enjoy more summer sounds this weekend at the Bandstand
Tamworth Jazz, Blues, Country, Folk and Roots will be entertaining audiences this Saturday, August 11 with their swing band musical mixture at the Castle Grounds Bandstand.
Once again, live performances will take place throughout the afternoon when swing bands will wow audiences by playing a mixture of country, blues, swing, folk, rock and popular music. The perfect backdrop to a relaxing afternoon, all free of charge.
The three line-ups for the afternoon:
The Fourties Three - A three- piece band consisting of drums, guitar, sax and clarinet, playing popular jazz and swing standards from the 30’s and 40’s.
Count Me In – A three-piece band consisting of keyboards, guitar and vocals, playing popular jazz tunes including, Moon River, Girl from Ipanema and Fly Me to the Moon, plus Christina Aguilera, Cilla and Adele covers.
Tickety Boo – A four- piece band consisting of drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar and vocals, playing popular country, folk, rock and blues.
Cllr John Chesworth, Tamworth Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Culture and Operational Services, said: “Tamworth Jazz, Blues, Country, Folk and Roots return this weekend for another memorable selection of performances from different musicians and bands.
“It’s great to see bandstand concerts continue to go from strength to strength. Everyone is invited to enjoy a lovely afternoon of entertainment this Saturday in the stunning Castle Grounds.”
Sponsored by Ankerside Shopping Centre, all the concerts are free of charge, so bring your picnic baskets and blankets down to Tamworth Castle Grounds for an afternoon of music. Performances take place at intervals between 1pm and 4pm (subject to weather conditions).
