Extra tickets now on sale for this year’s sing-along outdoor movies

Due to popular demand, Tamworth Borough Council’s Arts & Events team have released more tickets for the animated film Encanto screening at the Outdoor Cinema.
Bring your deckchairs and picnic baskets and join us at our fun-packed family friendly programme of events including outdoor cinema, live music, sports, live screen showings of the Commonwealth Games and much more in the Castle Grounds this summer.
The afternoon showing of Walt Disney Animation Studios' Encanto on Sunday, July 24, now has additional tickets on sale so more families can enjoy the popular animation that tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house in a wondrous, charmed place called Encanto. Tickets are selling fast, so book now to avoid missing out.
All tickets are priced at only £4! Gates open at 1pm, with the film starting at 2pm.
Later the same day, (Sunday July 24) audiences are invited to experience one of the greatest spectacles ever captured on film – The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Get ready to ‘jump to the left, step to the right and put your hands on your hips,’ as the time warp takes to the screen with the musical that features sing-along classics.
All tickets are priced at £8. Gates open at 8pm, for a 9pm film start. Please note this film is aged restricted for 15-year-olds and above.
Another outstanding musical takes to the outdoor screen on Wednesday, August 10, with a 2021 blockbuster favourite, West Side Story, directed by Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg.
This timeless story tells the tale of fierce rivalries and young love in New York City. Be ready to enjoy an evening of action, romance, and an emotional love story.
All tickets are priced at £8. Gates open at 6pm for a 7pm start. Please note this film is aged restricted to a 12A.
The outdoor cinema programme is part of the Tamworth Castle Summer Fest taking place from July 22 to August 13, and includes three large concerts by world-renowned artists such as Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra , Russell Watson, Jack Savoretti, Melanie C, , Belinda Carlisle, Howard Jones, Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey, Boney M, The Fizz, Toyah, Katrina of The Waves and Pat Sharp.
These incredible shows welcome families of all ages, with children aged nine and under admitted for FREE. (Must book a ticket in advance)
There will also be FREE live music shows, a whole host of sports events and demonstrations, the UK’s largest inflatable obstacle course, a 5k fun run, silent disco, Bingo Lingo, a world record breaking attempt and much more.
In addition, between July 28 and August 8, live coverage of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will be shown on a large screen in the grounds as part of the event.
