Magical surprises at Tamworth Castle this summer holiday

Get ready to explore something magical this summer holiday as Tamworth Borough Council announce their new children’s activities at Tamworth Castle.

Starting on Tuesday 29 July – Sunday 31 August, Tamworth Castle will unleash a stampede of mythical beasts inside the castle! Get ready for chaos as these beasts take over the castle rooms and create mayhem.

Included in the normal general admission prices, families can help Merlin and his team of beast tamers to track down the runaway creatures and restore the castle back to peace and quiet.

Along the way, visitors will come face-to-face with a mischievous gargoyle, a dozing dragon, a curious baby unicorn, plus enchanted fairies and surprises around every ancient corner.

Grab your wand, summon your courage, and prepare for a magical adventure like no other!

Wizarding School One - The Art of Wizardry – 31 July & 2,7,9 August 

During this 90-minute session, students will unlock the secrets of spellcasting and learn the core skills of wand work and enchanting spells. Prepare to practice in magical duels, master the art of magical protection, and explore ancient spells. 

Wizarding School Two – Care of Mythical Beasts – 14 & 16 August 

Learn how to care for mythical beasts by communicating with magical creatures. Discover the mysteries of dragon fire, the healing touch of unicorns, and the wisdom of gargoyles.

Wizarding School Three - The Art of Potion Brewing – 21 & 23 August 

Become a master potion brewer. This week’s 90-minute session students will brew potions fit for any magical creature, from dragon’s breath elixirs to unicorn tranquilizers. Learn the secrets of magical ingredients, perfect brewing techniques, and how to craft potions with powerful effects. 

Wizarding School Four - Wizarding Etiquette & Magical Creatures – 28 & 30 August 

In the world of magic, manners are just as important as spells. In this session, students will master the art of wizarding etiquette and learn how to interact with magical beings, from noble unicorns to fierce griffins. Experience the charm of diplomatic negotiations and practice your best magical manners.

All the wizarding sessions start from 3pm and include a tour of the magical castle and a meet-and-greet with a mythical creature. Every child receives a certificate and a memento.

Tickets for these sessions are priced at £15 per child, £10 for accompanying adult. (All children must be accompanied by an adult.) Pre-booking is essential.
