Tamworth Assembly Rooms prepares to re-open its doors
18th May 2021
After being closed for more than a year, the team at Tamworth Assembly Rooms are busy preparing for the re-opening of its doors safely to visitors, audiences and performers, over the next coming months.
The team have been working hard to make the venue Covid safe including the installation of plastic screens to separate open areas, a mobile app for ordering drinks at the bar so you don’t have to queue and reduced capacity of 75% for the first run of shows, to ensure a safe introduction back to theatre performances.
Tamworth Assembly Rooms is also now the official home of Britain’s Got Talent finalists the D-Day Darlings and BGT stars the D-Day Juniors, since forming a creative partnership with Riverside Studios at the end of last year, and what better way to celebrate this partnership with the first show reopening on June 27 with The Darlings and The Juniors taking to the stage.
They will be joined by the 2019 Britain’s Got Talent winner, Colin Thackery, for an evening of song, including classics from The D-Day Darlings album, favourites from the World War eras and original songs from The D-Day Juniors.
Tickets for the show are now on sale, along with many more performances including legendary Status Quo lead singer Francis Rossi, for an intimate evening of chat and music on July 2; The Best of Take That tribute on July 8; Soul and Motown classic tunes on July 27 with Soul Train and West End stars from Les Miserables, The Barricade Boys, join the stage on Aug 5.
World class tribute act ‘MJ The Legacy’, will be performing on August 13, followed by the incredible ‘Boogie Williams’ and his smoking hot piano performing the hits of rock and roll legend ‘Jerry Lee Lewis’, with special guests including Richard Day as Johnny Cash.
To complete the August summer line-up, Ariana Grande and JoJo Siwa tribute will showcase an afternoon performance on August 28, followed by T.Rextasy who will rock the night away with their flamboyant and glam rock tribute.

“The D-Day Darlings are set to relaunch our entertainment programme with their concert on June 27.
“We’re gradually adding to the programme now, so please do keep an eye on the website for updates and new shows in the coming weeks, and even more importantly, please get booking. We can’t wait to have the theatre filled with the sounds of music, singing and laughter again."
