Tamworth Castle scoop’s silver at Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food Awards
Tamworth Borough Council are delighted to announce that Tamworth Castle has scooped silver for the Small Visitor Attraction at the Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food Awards.
Staffordshire's best tourism and hospitality businesses have been crowned at the 2024 ceremony which took place on Thursday 14 March; with more than 40 of the county’s best tourism and hospitality businesses attending the prestigious Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food Awards 2024, sponsored by Staffordshire University.
Following a rigorous independent judging process, over 140 entries from across the county were whittled down to help decide the shortlist of finalists in the 19 categories.
The winners were announced live at a glittering black-tie awards ceremony hosted by BBC Midlands Today’s Rebecca Wood, at Aspects at the National Memorial Arboretum.
Tamworth Castle was up against some big names for the Small Visitor Attraction award, including:
- The Brampton Museum, Newcastle-under-Lyme
- Gladstone Pottery Museum, Stoke-on-Trent
- Middleport Pottery, Stoke-on-Trent
Anna Miller, Assistant Director for Growth and Regeneration for Tamworth Borough Council, said: “The Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food Awards are all about celebrating our amazing hospitality and tourism businesses and the people working in them.
“The competition is a great way of promoting our gem of a castle that consistently delivers outstanding customer experiences.
“I’d like to congratulate all those businesses shortlisted in this year’s awards and our castle team for their hard work and dedication in making the castle an amazing place to visit.”
Last summer Tamworth Castle also retained their official approval as one of the best small visitor attractions in Staffordshire, after achieving the Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Service accreditation; a quality assessment by VisitEngland, for the eighth year running.
